Spanish greens are all prepped up for the prestigious Solheim Cup. Commencing on Friday, three days will witness high-spirited gameplay. However, if an unfortunate incident occurs to the athlete before the first tee shot is even delivered, it is a troublesome situation. Something similar was experienced by the Solheim Cup player Danielle Kang.
As a matter of fact, this wasn’t the first time for the golf icon to find herself in this situation. Just last month, Kang had to take matters into her own hands to address the issue off the court, and now she is again face to face with a similar predicament.
The details of the rough patch faced by Danielle Kang
As the US Solheim Cup team landed in Spain, they got started with their practice. One of these players was Danielle Kang. While the golfer had reached the Spanish ground, her golf kit hadn’t.
This urged the golfer to take it to Twitter to put forth her concerns. Through a tweet, the LPGA Tour star wrote, “I need everyone’s help again. My captain and the entire US Team have been on this, but someone PLEASE put my flight out of AMSTERDAM to MALAGA…”
Further, she mentioned the flight’s number along with the flight’s name. Stacy Lewis supported her attempts to get her bag delivered. The US captain also took to Twitter to ask the registered flight for help.
She said that it would be really great if help could be provided locating a set of golf clubs. Elaborating on this, Lewis mentioned that a big tournament is coming up this week.
Danielle Kang is a vital player on the team. Her experience multiplies her role, especially among the youngsters. This week, she will make her fourth appearance at the coveted event. Most likely, the American golfer would be hoping to receive her club bag soon; as less than two days are left for them to battle their European rivals.
Solheim Cup details
While the major details concerning who is participating on both the US and the European side might already be the hot topic right, there are other details related to the event that demand equal attention. Starting from the tee times, the Solheim Cup will commence over a period of three days. The first round, per EST, will start at 2 a.m. and can be viewed on Golf Channel, Peacock, and International. The competition schedule looks rather packed.
On Friday, the morning session will witness foursomes while the afternoon shift will play the fourball. As Saturday will commence, the same format will be followed. However, on the last day of the tournament, single matches will dominate the greens. Apart from this, the tournament boasts a prestigious golf course and some worthy sponsors. However, all eyes will be on the tough competition that will probably set the stage on fire.
Some others who have played well priorly from the Solheim Cup list
The recent stop of the LPGA stars was at the Columbia Edgewater Macan Course from Aug 31 to Sep 3. While many eminent names were present in Portland to take on the American greens, it was lesser-known golfers who portrayed a more dominant end. On top of the list is the current title holder, Chanettee Wannasaen, who on Sunday clinched her first LPGA victory before the Solheim Cup. However, not only did she manage to outshine others with a brilliant 26 under par, the Thai rising star also registered a historic round.
The golfer, though, has not made a place for herself in the top 50 in the LPGA Tour yet. The closest she came to it was being 51st in Thailand in February and 57th at Superstition Mountain in March.
